Days of the Week by Jason Thorpe Buchanan; This set of works for jazz ensemble are the beginnings of a set of seven pieces. They are something of a stream of consciousness, a reflection of a very trying and transitional period in my life. Written for the Ananda Jazz Ensemble, these pieces utilize non-traditional, modern treatment of extended jazz harmonies as well as changes of meter and tonal center. They are each named for the day and month in which they were composed and are to be performed in the reverse order from that which they were written.
