With this piece I tried to explore the sonorous possibilities of the group as a whole rather than writing for five separate instrumental personalities. It is motivically based on several small intervalic particles - a rising/falling triad, a descending minor 2nd followed by a major 3rd , a series of rising minor 2nds , etc. - which are developed
throughout the piece.
