Corey Keating currently resides in San Jose, CA, where he is finishing a degree in music composition at San José State University.   In addition to his composing, Corey plays the piano and performs in the SJSU Concert Choir.  

In Fall of 2008, his choral piece "Hidden is the Sky" was selected to be premiered at the Society of Composers, Inc. annual festival.   It was subsequently performed in April of 2009, by the San Jose State Concert Choir, under the direction of Clem Cano.   Last Spring saw two major premieres of his works - "Vjerskih Rituala" performed at the South Bay Composers' Collective inaugural concert in May and the subsequent premiere of his horn sonata "The Point at Which Light Shines Through" in Chicago by horn player Mike Walker and pianist Qing Jiang.  

Corey also holds the position of Assistant Editor at the Ira F. Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies, where he has written and published articles for the internationally-acclaimed Beethoven Journal.
